A Letter From the Chairman

To our wonderful community,

I would like to thank all of the homeowners that attended our organizational meeting. Your enthusiasm and community spirit definitely speaks volumes. To those of you that called in your support and were not able to make it, I am grateful to have you as neighbors.

With that being said, I would like to dispel some rumors that are circulating among our community. The main reason for our existence as a citizen's action committee is very simple.

  • To Bring our By-Laws current with the times
  • To assure that our Boards, present and future carry out their Fiduciary Responsibilities in a professional manner
  • To assist our Board in improving our property values
  • To restore the aesthetic beauty that was the Conquistador Condominium Community trademark
  • To ensure that all residents are safe and secure
  • To involve our community in all decision making
  • To prevent any unnecessary present or future assessments
  • To create a neighborhood where we can all be proud

There is nothing in our mission that is vindictive, threatening or condescending. Our only function is to be a sounding board, create a sense of community, get to know our neighbors, make recommendations to our Board and develop ways of communication to get more members of our community involved. Is this such a bad thing? Didn't we all grow up in neighborhoods?

Our initial plan is to create a Hurricane Preparedness Committee. I am presently working on such an endeavor for the Shores. We need every one's support in this endeavor. There are many residents in our community that have lived here for years and are alone and getting up in age. We want to assure that they will be OK. We owe it to them, maybe not legally, but definitely morally.

We want to assure that our property is as tight as possible if a storm should hit and make sure that all of our owner's phone numbers, emergency contact info and their whereabouts in case of a disaster are on premises. The worst possible thing that could happen, beyond injuries or a loss of life, is that we are faced with such emergency dilemmas that need an emergency vote and everyone is displaced and unreachable. There are many other issues to consider as well.

This is just an example of the type of programs that will have our focus. Feel free to call or email me in order to see "What we are really about."

With Respect and Sincerity,

Keith Goldstein, Chairman (904) 797-4115
